Project Less

in Less Stuff

Let me introduce you to“Project Less”

The aim of Project less is for me to simplify, minimalize, organize, and to get fit and healthy by performing a sequence of small projects that will enable me to live better with less

As a firm believer in “practice what you preach”, what better way for me to do this is to road test my thoughts and idea’s and present to you the reader, the outcome of these actions. Now, although at times these ideas may seem a bit odd or unrealistic, they may also at times prove to be mini- triumphs that will not only inspire myself to continue on with this journey, but hopefully inspire you as well

What does “Less” mean to me?

Having less stuff – we live in a society where we are accumulating stuff at a frantic rate. Constantly in our day to day lives we are being persuaded to “own more stuff” or “need to have more stuff” to make us feel better.  I am guilty like the next person by succumbing to the latest “must have” but you know what, I am sick of being a sheep, this is way of thinking is wrong. If want something, it must have a purpose, if it will get used, buy it, but if stuff is dragging you down, get rid of it!

Live Life – I have this fear of being a statistic, lately I have been concerned by the amount of weight I have been putting on in my thirties.  Currently  in Australia there is a nationwide obesity awareness campaign running in regards to growing rate of heart disease, diabetes and heart attacks in adult male and females. The TV ad depicts a  young man gradually getting older and heavier as he explains that he is not worried about gaining weight, and that, you know, its part of life. But, then he realises that its starting to  affect his health and his family, so now he gets worried. When I first saw this ad, I thought ” that’s me!” But ,  I am going to do something about it, and I will not continue to eat crap and make excuses, so from now on its  “Less Fat and More Fit”

Live Better – clutter is holding us back usfrom the now, and it’s not just the physical clutter, we also need to clear the mental clutter. Once you are in control of your clutter, it is only then, you are free to pursue what matters most.

Simplify – simple productivitytasks that will enable me to perform at my peak, and achieve goals that I previously thought I never would.

Next week I will be kicking off my first project, and am very excited to inform that this one is proving to be a winner, I can’t wait to post an update, so please keep visiting this site, or even better, subscribe  to Live It with less!

Enjoy.

Looks like you have simplified a perfect way to become more of a minimalist. I am excited to read more in the near future.
